Amarinth has delivered two vertical in-line pumps to energy company EDF to replace obsolete pumps on the UK’s Sizewell B nuclear energy station in Suffolk.

The Sizewell B nuclear power station is the only pressurised water reactor in the UK.
The energy station requires filtered sea water during operation and the new Amarinth vertical in-line super duplex pumps delivered to EDF are to exchange current but now out of date filtration display spray pumps for the drum screen wash process. The safe area rated pumps underwent a full suite of non-destructive evaluation (NDE) and carry 3.1 material certification for traceability. pressure gauge were also delivered to a tight 30-week deadline to coincide with a deliberate upkeep schedule minimising disruption on the power station.
