Atlas Copco to accumulate Wangen Pumpen

Atlas Copco has agreed to acquire the German industrial pump producer Pumpenfabrik Wangen GmbH from non-public equity firm Silverfleet Capital.

Headquartered in Wangen in the Allgäu region of Germany, Pumpenfabrik Wangen specialises in progressive cavity pumps used primarily within the biogas and wastewater sectors, and twin-screw pumps for meals and beverage and cosmetics functions.
Pumpenfabrik Wangen has manufacturing amenities in Germany, a US subsidiary and a world sales and repair footprint. The firm employs 265 people and had 2020 revenues of roughly €46.4 million.
“Industrial pumps is a section that we now have identified as a strategic match for Atlas Copco and Wangen Pumpen has leading differentiated expertise with a robust aftermarket enterprise,” mentioned Andrew Walker, president of Atlas Copco’s Power Technique enterprise area. “Wangen Pumpen is a powerful brand and is known for high quality in demanding industrial functions. This acquisition will create a stable foundation for further progress in new industrial pump segments.”

The acquired enterprise will become a part of the Power and Flow division within Atlas Copco’s Power Technique Business Area.
